Meet Patti Porcarelli
Working with students has been my life’s passion and for 30-plus years, I have had the honor to teach middle school, high school, and college students.
I obtained my undergraduate degrees in English and Secondary Education from Syracuse University and my Master’s in English at the University of Maryland, College Park, going on to do some PhD work before settling into high school teaching. Twenty-four years of my career has been at the Park School of Baltimore, and I started my vocation in a public middle school in Prince George’s County, Maryland.
Now, I specialize in helping middle school, high school, and college students with reading, writing, and College Board tests, like the AP Literature and AP Language exams.
I believe that whatever barriers students might encounter with the academic material, all students are capable of learning. By working one-to-one—setting goals, learning skills, and practicing the reading and writing—students will succeed.
